But we see Jesus. Hebrews 2:9.
As we are the last days before that great and dreadful day (Malachi 4:5), we look around not only our own communities, but also at the world in general. What do we see? Nothing but strife. Some are striving to attain more wealth, some are striving to gain more power, whether in the work place or in their social life. Some are simply striving to survive, trying to feed their families and keep a roof over their heads. Some live in their “comfort zone”, and that includes many (so called) Christians. These have such a comfortable life style they do not want the boat rocking.
However, Jesus did not live in a comfort zone, He came to SEEK and to SAVE that which was lost. (Luke 19:10) Jesus allowed Himself (through His humility) to be subject to criticism and humiliation. He even suffered the greatest humiliation of all, that of being crucified, as a common criminal would have been.
And what did He show in return for this abuse?
Nothing but love and compassion.
Let us therefore, as true, Born-again, Spirit filled Christians, follow in our Father’s footsteps, and, instead of living in our comfort zone, let us show love and kindness to all mankind.
It is of no use, simply preaching and witnessing to people. Love is shown by actions, not words. Yes it is right to preach and spread the word of God, but without the practicalities of caring and helping whenever possible, these words are just thin air.
Let us keep our eyes firmly fixed on Jesus, and be obedient to His every word.
My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.
1 John 3:18.
Every Blessing
